At Tolerx, we're approaching both disease and work in novel ways. Our mission is to normalize the immune system — to STOP it from mistakenly seeing normal body cells as something to attack (as can happen, for instance, in type 1 diabetes), or INDUCE it to attack something mistakenly being tolerated (as can happen with tumors or viruses). And we're looking to do this without impacting normal immune function (a drawback of many classic immunotherapies).
This scientific approach is complemented by our unconventional corporate attitude. Our passionate, competitive, and very human work ethic colors everything we do — and are.
In short, we're not following the crowd. Rather, every day we're reinventing what it means to be a new kind of biopharmaceutical company.
