TRX585 is a unique targeted T cell immunomodulator that inhibits ILT5, another inhibitory member of the ILT family. ILT5 is predominantly expressed on antigen presenting cells (APCs). Tolerx has identified a novel immunoregulatory pathway that, when activated by TRX585, profoundly enhances T cell mediated immune responses. Early data show that lymphocytes that have been exposed to TRX585 are able to kill a variety of human tumor cells. Modulating this pathway using TRX585 may be beneficial in the treatment of cancer and viral infections. Further testing is being conducted in the laboratory.
